'No signs of fire' at major London station after commuters evacuated

On May 1, Kings Cross Station in London underwent an emergency evacuation after an automatic fire alarm was triggered shortly after 7pm. Commuters were prompted to leave the station via automated messages warning of the emergency. Firefighters from Euston Fire Station promptly responded and conducted a search of the station, ultimately finding no indications of a fire. The situation was resolved, allowing the station to reopen around 7:30pm. London Fire Brigade reassured the public about the safety measures carried out by staff and responders during the incident.
Automated messages were played out over speakers, saying: "Due to a reported emergency, all customers must leave the station immediately."
Firefighters have revealed there were "no signs of a fire" after a major London station was evacuated.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Firefighters from Euston Fire Station responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at Kings Cross Railway Station."
Station staff evacuated the building as a precaution, whilst a systematic search of the building was carried out by the Brigade.
