Garages destroyed after fire rages for hours at Brent shop

A significant fire occurred in Brent, devastating a shop with flats above and a row of garages. London Fire Brigade responded promptly to the urgent situation after receiving 70 emergency calls. The fire took over three hours to control, culminating in the destruction of parts of the loft conversion and garages. Station Commander Stephen McGhie emphasized efforts to prevent further spread. A large fire had broken out at a shop that has two floors of flats above, causing black smoke to billow into the sky.
It took firefighters more than three hours to bring the blaze under control, with part of the loft conversion and the row of garages ultimately destroyed by flames.
Station Commander Stephen McGhie stated, 'We worked tirelessly to prevent the fire from spreading to further properties.'
In total, 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines were at the scene from Stanmore, Mill Hill, Willesden, and West Hampstead fire stations.
