A tragic incident occurred in Plumstead where a woman has died after a fire broke out at a two-storey mid-terraced building on Nithdale Road. Firefighters quickly responded, rescuing her from the scene, but she was later pronounced dead. The blaze commenced just before 1:50 AM and resulted in damage primarily to the ground floor. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by authorities, including the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service, as teams quickly contained the situation by around 2:40 AM.
The fire broke out in a mid-terraced property of two floors in Nithdale Road just before 1.50am today (April 14). Crews rescued a woman from the property, however, she was pronounced dead shortly after.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: Sadly a woman has died following a house fire on Nithdale Road, Plumstead. The fire occurred in a mid-terraced property of two floors, damaging the part of the ground floor.
