The fundraiser with the long title and the long list of noted Santa Clara County chefs will return Sunday, Sept. 21. Star Chefs and the Wines and Spirits They Love features gourmet small plates paired with wines, spirits (or brews) all to benefit Momentum for Health, a nonprofit provider of behavioral health services for more than 4,500 local residents annually.
Big Bear Lake will have a big weekend with a three-day fundraiser put on by the owner of In-N-Out Burger coinciding with the first two days of Oktoberfest. In-N-Out Burger's Tough Mudder Challenge opens on Friday, Sept. 5 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 7 at the Bear Mountain ski resort. Oktoberfest starts Saturday, Sept. 6 at the nearby Big Bear Convention Center and runs weekends through Nov. 8. The German-themed beer festival is the big thing between summer and winter activities at Big Bear Lake.
