The post included sentimental captions expressing enduring love and gratitude for Ransone and their children, Jack and Violet. Celebrities including Natasha Lyonne and Julia Fox offered public condolences and supportive messages. A family friend launched a GoFundMe to support McPhee and the children, which raised more than $114,000 by Monday afternoon. James Ransone, known for roles on The Wire and It: Chapter Two, died at 46; the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner listed an apparent suicide. Ransone had publicly discussed past substance abuse and childhood sexual abuse.
