Analyst Youssef Squali cut his price target on Lyft to $15 from $18 while maintaining a Hold rating, citing winter storm disruptions, the integration impact of the Freenow acquisition, and rising fuel costs as reasons to trim estimates below Wall Street consensus.

Sergio Avedian, an Uber driver and senior contributor to the gig-driver advocacy blog and YouTube channel The Rideshare Guy, said the incentives are 'a step in the right direction, but they are largely symbolic and fall short of offsetting the real impact of rising gas prices on drivers.'

Sometimes, they report the cars for signs of an illegal maneuver, like when in September, a driver operating the city's 45 electric bus noticed a Waymo trying to pass on double solid yellow lines at Stockton and Columbus, an intersection along its route. Or for a near miss-like, when, last December, a Waymo was caught by a city light rail train's video camera making a dangerous left turn at 'high speed.'

"Consumers don't have all the information at once," Griffin Li, the app's 19-year-old creator, told SFGATE. "They have to sort of make suboptimal decisions and spend more money. And this is just a way to help."

The company is hiring for a New York-based product manager to define and execute product strategies that create net-new subscription packages for its drivers and couriers, according to a listing posted this week. The candidate will also create a cohesive strategy for global testing and expansion, and assess how this business model should evolve given different responses from our competitors.
