The strike marks a widening of hostilities which had largely been contained to Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud neighbourhoods. A drone has struck a governorate building in Aleppo, marking a sharp escalation in fighting between the Syrian army and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The drone, believed to be launched by Kurdish-led SDF on Saturday, hit the building as several high-ranking officials, including Aleppo's governor and two Syrian government ministers, were holding a news conference inside.
Vladimir Putin's forces carried out yet another evil and sadistic attack on innocent civilians and many residential buildings on Dnipro overnight. Fires broke out over Dnipro and children were among those injured as buildings were damaged, the head of Dnipropetrovsk region Military Administration, Vladyslav Haivanenko confirmed. A total of seven civilians were injured amid the Russian drone strike, a child aged 8, and a 16 year old girl was hospitalised. Fire crews put out blazes on residential, administrative buildings a gas pipeline and vehicles.
He found the footage of a drone closing in rapidly on a buggy, Vladislav standing exposed at its rear on a Russian military social media channel. The 31-year-old, an arbitration lawyer before Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, makes a double whistling noise to describe the drone's ominous progress. That's me, he says, pointing at the video, filmed from a fibre optic drone, chasing him down with terrifying ease as the vehicle slows for a corner.
Twenty-eight paragraphs into the story that first focused attention on the murder Pete Hegseth ordered back in September (though as it notes, Nick Turse first revealed the second shot just days after the attack) is this revelation: it took four strikes to kill first the people then destroy any debris from the targeted boats. The boat in the first strike was hit a total of four times, twice to kill the crew and twice more to sink it, four people familiar with the operation said.
Ukrainian strikes have "annihilated" a major power plant in Moscow with multiple explosions and machine gun fire was heard at the Shatura Thermal Power Plant in Moscow Oblast. Unverified footage shows multiple explosions ringing out with several fireballs lighting up the night sky. Moscow region governor, Andrei Vorobyov, said, "Some of the drones were destroyed by air defense forces. Several fell on the territory of the station," he added a fire broke out but this is now "localised".
Romanian authorities have ordered the evacuation of residents in the village of Plauru on the Danube River that forms the border with Ukraine after a drone reportedly struck an LPG-carrying ship on the Ukrainian side of the river. In a statement released on November 17, the Defense Ministry said its radar monitoring and surveillance systems also detected and tracked targets in Ukrainian airspace near Tulcea County where Plauru lies.
"Clearly, Russia is trying to inflict pain on Ukraine with even more brazen attacks. This is a clear sign that [Russian President Vladimir] Putin is testing the world -- whether they will accept or tolerate this," Zelenskyy said. "That is why it is important that the statements of leaders, states, and institutions be backed by strong actions -- sanctions against Russia, against individuals associated with Russia, tough tariffs, and other restrictions on trade with Russia," he added.
