""Fire!""
""This is something we're all trained up on. We're even trained to identify the types of drones, and we expect this,""
""If anything, it's probably motivated us more.""
""to break the siege of Gaza.""
A siren sounded aboard the Gaza-bound vessel Alma and people aboard shouted "Fire!" as a projectile struck the top deck and exploded. Surveillance footage released by Global Sumud Flotilla showed what the group said was a suspected drone strike while the flotilla was docked in Tunisian waters; Reuters verified the video. No one was hurt and there was no structural damage, according to a GSF message. A spokesperson posted on Instagram that the flotilla will continue its mission "to break the siege of Gaza." Activists aboard said they are trained to identify drones and felt motivated rather than shaken. Some activists blamed Israel, which has previously intercepted activist boats; Israel has not responded to the new accusations. Tunisian authorities did not immediately comment, and the flotilla of around 20 boats is carrying a symbolic amount of humanitarian aid and had planned a stop in Tunis for other boats to join.
