A drone strike in eastern Ukraine killed French photojournalist Antoni Lallican, 37, and wounded Ukrainian journalist Georgiy Ivanchenko while they were near the front line in Donbas. The attack occurred near Druzhkivka, about 20 kilometres from the Donetsk front, where Lallican had been embedded with Ukraine's Fourth Armoured Brigade. Ukraine's military and French President Emmanuel Macron blamed Russia. Lallican is reported as the first journalist killed by a drone in the war. At least 17 journalists have been killed since February 2022 according to press federations; UNESCO counts 22. Reporters Without Borders called for a swift investigation.
