"Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk said the attack also hit Ukrainian energy targets. "Energy experts are taking all necessary measures to minimize negative consequences," Grynchuk wrote on Facebook. "As soon as safety conditions allow, energy experts will begin clarifying the consequences of the attack and conducting restoration work." In the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhya, drones struck several targets overnight, killing a 7-year-old child, the regional governor said."
On October 10, Russian drones and missiles struck central Kyiv and Ukrainian energy infrastructure. A drone ignited apartments on the 6th and 7th floors of a high-rise, and firefighters battled a large blaze. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported eight people injured, five seriously, and power outages and water-supply problems on the left bank and eastern districts. The Ukrainian Air Force described the assault as massive, with multiple explosions and drone sounds over the capital. Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk confirmed energy targets were hit and said experts would assess damage and restore systems when safety allows. Overnight strikes in Zaporizhzhya killed a 7-year-old child.
