Artist studios in Kyiv damaged by Russian drone strike for second time
"Yes, it's happened again. We really want to stay. But if the building is declared unsafe, we have to move."
"The drone fell on the roof on the other side of the building. We don't know now if the institute managers can fix it. Because it costs much more than our windows."
"This new attack threatens to quieten the new generation of Ukrainian artists."
A Russian drone strike on 14 November badly damaged the studios of Nahirna22 at the Kyiv Institute of Automation, marking the second strike in under three months. The space houses 30 studios and was hit amid a wider Russian air raid that killed six people in Kyiv. Plastic windows installed after the August attack survived, while wooden windows were destroyed, leaving studios covered in glass and rubble. The collective faces uncertainty over costly repairs and potential relocation if the building is declared unsafe. Fundraising events and a planned Berlin sale aim to support repairs and the artists.
