A 17-year-old boy was charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of 18-year-old Juan J. Pena in the Bronx.
Two school resource officers were in the building when the shooting happened around 11 a.m., but they were not in the immediate vicinity of the cafeteria and by the time they got down there, the shooting was over.
"We've been pushing this for two years, and we'll just keep pushing until we get where we need to be." Micala Trusser emphasizes the persistent efforts for change regarding domestic abuse recognition in young victims.
"The victim related that he had utilized an online dating app to arrange to meet a person... After arriving, he was approached by a group of teenagers, who confronted him verbally and battered him..."
