Exclusive | Dad of teen accused of fatally stabbing Texas football star Austin Metcalf says son 'was not the aggressor'

The father of Karmelo Anthony, a teenager accused of fatally stabbing a rival school's football player, insists his son is innocent and was provoked. Andrew Anthony describes Karmelo, a diligent A student with a 3.7 GPA who works two jobs, as a "good kid" caught in a tragic situation. He affirms that Karmelo did not instigate the fight that led to the stabbing over a seating dispute during a track meet in Frisco, Texas. The father expressed deep sympathy for the victim's family, highlighting the shared tragedy.

Everyone has already made their assumptions about my son, but he's not what they're making him out to be," Andrew Anthony to The Post.

He's a good kid. He works two jobs. He's an A student, has a 3.7 GPA," the heartbroken dad said.

He was not the aggressor. He was not the one who started it," Anthony said.

I feel bad for the other parents and family, and words can't explain how both [families] have been affected by this tragedy.
