BANGOR, Maine -- A private aircraft carrying eight people crashed on takeoff Sunday night at Maine's Bangor International Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The Bombardier Challenger 600 crashed around 7:45 p.m., and there was no immediate word on the conditions of those aboard. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating. The crash occurred as New England and much of the country grappled with a massive winter storm. Bangor had undergone steady snowfall Sunday along with many other parts of the country.
A small, private plane crashed at the Provincetown Municipal Airport on Cape Cod on Sunday afternoon, catching fire and killing the pilot, who was the only person on board, city officials said. The fire department and mutual aid partners in Provincetown, which sits at the very tip of the Cape Cod just southeast of Boston, extinguished the fire and the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a city news release.
A small Mexican Navy plane transporting a young medical patient and seven others crashed Monday near Galveston, killing at least five people and setting off a search in waters along the Texas coast, officials said. A plane crashed into a parking lot in Nashua Wednesday afternoon, Nashua police said. The plane, only carrying a pilot, crashed into the parking lot of 45 Cannongate Road around 2:40 p.m., Nashua police Sergeant John Cinelli said in an interview. The pilot was injured, but was able to speak with emergency crews at the scene, Cinelli said. He was transported to a nearby hospital.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY A small plane reportedly crashed Friday afternoon about 10 miles northeast of Mount Hamilton in Santa Clara County, according to authorities. The crash was initially reported around 2:30 p.m. seven miles east of Mount Hamilton, but Cal Fire crews later discovered the site was actually in the Arroyo del Valle area, Division Chief Ed Orre said. As of 4 p.m., crews were still figuring out how to access the site, according to Orrey.
