Antoine Forest and MacKenzie Gunther were the pilots killed in a crash at LaGuardia Airport. Gunther graduated from Seneca College's aviation program in 2023. The crash involved Air Canada Express Flight 8646, which collided with a fire truck while landing. The flight was carrying 72 passengers and four crew members. Over 40 individuals were hospitalized due to the incident. Seneca College will honor Gunther by flying flags at half-mast. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board has recovered the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder from the aircraft.
