The Indiana Fever said Thursday that guard Caitlin Clark is out for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season, missing the team's final three regular season games and any potential postseason play. The announcement ended weeks of speculation about when Clark, who hasn't played since July 15 due to a right groin injury, would return -- a frustrating chapter for Clark and the Fever, who currently sit as the No. 8 seed of the WNBA playoffs.
After returning to the practice field Monday and participating in Wednesday and Thursday sessions, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings spoke publicly for the first time about an eventful summer that included a calf injury and a contract impasse. The 49ers and Jennings reached agreement Wednesday night on a slight modification to his contract that includes the opportunity to earn $3 million in additional play-time incentives in 2025.
When Bayern Munich opted to sell Adam Aznou to Everton earlier this summer, many fans were irate with the club for giving up on another youngster. However, there were some rumblings about Aznous's attitude and work ethic - particularly on Bayern Munich's Club World Cup trip - that might have pushed the club over the edge in determining to get rid of the young left-back.
The Boston Red Sox put rookie sensation Roman Anthony on the injured list Wednesday after the outfielder experienced left oblique tightness in Tuesday's 11-7 win over the Cleveland Guardians. While not giving a specific timetable, Red Sox manager Alex Cora acknowledged that oblique strains typically require four to six weeks of recovery time. "He's one of our best offensive players, but it's not hard," Cora said Wednesday. "We have to move on. We've been through this before."

For casual observers, they might be surprised to hear Jovic regarded in such a fortune-changing kind of fashion. Since being made the 27th pick of the 2022 draft, he has done very little on the stat sheet to indicate such importance to the organization. Last season was basically his best to date, and it hardly resembled the work of true difference-makers.
That's because the Braves pulled off a bit of a shocker by claiming SS Ha-Seong Kim (김하성) from the Tampa Bay Rays off of waivers. In fact, it wasn't even widely known that Kim was on waivers to begin with and I'd imagine that it was actually a pretty quick process that once it happened and the Braves had the chance to claim him, Braves President/GM Alex Anthopoulos jumped on the opportunity and brought him in.
Adam Fox, for some reason, became the topic of many discussions with disgruntled fans. There was good reason to be disgruntled, as the Rangers were trash and more was expected of the leadership group, including Fox. But that displeasure led to odd arguments that Fox wasn't good and was overpaid. Yet in a down year with likely only 1.5 fully functional knees, Fox still put up 10 goals and 61 points in 74 games
Adam was carted off the Petco Park mound during this evening's loss to the Orioles (video via Talkin' Baseball). Gunnar Henderson hit a chopper up the middle. The ball was a little behind the right-handed Adam, who naturally pulls toward first base on the follow-through in his delivery. Adam appeared to try to plant and change direction to field the ball when his left leg gave out.

I felt it smash my face. I kind of like black out for a second and look up, and AJ Pollock is over me like, 'Hey man, are you OK? Are you OK?' And I'm like, 'Scherz is going to kill me, man.' Because Scherzer was pitching. Scherz is going to kill me. What a train wreck. My neck hurt the next day. That was embarrassing. And then they left it up for the game, for like two games. I'm like, 'Can we take it down, man? It's embarrassing.'

The White Sox put star center fielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list Wedneday before their series finale against Kansas City. Robert tweaked his left hamstring while running out a grounder in the second inning of Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Royals. The 25-year-old was forced off during the first half of Sunderland's 2-0 defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday. Speaking after the Black Cats' Carabao Cup loss against Huddersfield on Tuesday, their boss Regis Le Bris said while the concern was not "long-term", Ballard does face a spell on the sidelines. "It's not too serious so we expect him to be out for two to three weeks," he told the club's website.
"Neymar sustained a minor injury last week. This will be the final two matches of the qualifiers and it will be very demanding, so we need players in their prime conditions so we can perform at the highest level," manager Carlo Ancelotti said.
And the move hasn't arrived a moment too soon. The 22-year-old is in desperate need of a fresh start, plagued by injuries and inconsistency in the past four seasons, a series of events that has dramatically limited his opportunities for both club and country. Do Gladbach have a plan in place to keep the former prodigy fit and firing? Will Reyna get the minutes to make the World Cup?
