Punahele Soriano is recovering from injuries caused by a car accident. He had planned to fight in July and to begin training hard while getting healthy, but an accident interrupted those plans. Soriano said an older driver hit his car near a red light while they were moving slowly, resulting in a T-bone impact. He reported a mild concussion and neck injuries that left him confused and affected. Soriano has a professional record of 13-4 and previously struggled with four losses in five fights between 2021 and 2023. He later rebounded with four straight wins, including a unanimous decision victory over Ramiz Brahimaj in February.
"“I was like, I'm gonna look for a fight in July. I'm gonna start getting healthy; I'm gonna start training hard, but I got into a car accident,” Soriano told Home of Fight. “Some old man hit me. I got a mild concussion, my neck was jacked up. I was kind of embarrassed, actually because we were going slow, we were off a red light and just kind of T-bones me. I didn't see it. I was so confused. It kind of messed me up.”"
"While Soriano (13-4) started his UFC journey as a highly-touted finisher, he dropped four out of his five outings between 2021 and 2023. However, “Story Time” has since rebounded with four consecutive wins, displaying a more measured approach. Soriano is coming off a unanimous decision win over Ramiz Brahimaj this past February."
