Diaz said he was angry but understood why he could not do much during the fight because his eye was leaking heavily. He added that he was blinded by blood on the right side. Diaz stated that returning to MMA was harder than expected, even though he had taken mostly boxing bouts. He described feeling unwell and realizing that MMA requires a lot of work. He said his body began to callous up and move together, eventually finding rhythm before the fight ended. Afterward, he requested a rematch with Perry and planned to heal and resume running on Monday, saying he had a lot to make up for.
