Formula 1's new era was always going to bring questions, but its first week of serious running has raised more than most. Preseason testing in Bahrain has offered flashes of performance and plenty of data, yet little in the way of firm answers about how the sport's new landscape is really shaping up. On track, the stopwatch has told a shifting story, with different teams looking quick at different moments and no clear benchmark emerging amid a game of smoke and mirrors.
Formula 1's preseason kicks into overdrive with the first of two tests in Bahrain this week, and you can follow all the action live with ESPN. The 11 teams got up and running with the all-new-for-2026 cars in a private test in Barcelona in January, but now comes an acid test in the form of two three-day tests in Bahrain.
Despite its location on River North's most notorious nightlife strip, Theory offers an elevated sports bar experience for serious fans who still want to have fun. One of the few Chicago bars to open in the early-morning hours to broadcast overseas F1 races, it's regularly packed with dedicated fans who come for the sports and stay for the top-tier food and drinks.
Promising to bring high‑performance, low‑latency networking to one of the world's most demanding, data‑driven sports environments, Ruckus Networks has entered an agreement to be the Official Networking Partner of the TGR Haas F1 Team.
The Lego Group is set to host its very first press conference at CES 2026 but exactly what it plans to unveil is still under wraps. The iconic toy brick maker has offered no clues about what's on the agenda, leaving speculation wide open, from new video games to Formula 1 race cars. Here's how you can watch Lego's presentation at CES, along with what we think the company could reveal.
Allen and Herta, both generational talents, made their professional debuts within a week of each other in 2018 and have gone on to become some of the most recognizable stars in their respective worlds. Eight years in, with 116 IndyCar starts, Herta finished second in the IndyCar championship for Andretti Global as recently as 2024, has nine victories to his credit plus, from 2019, the distinction of becoming IndyCar's youngest winner at the age of 18.
As the new Red Bull Racing upper management remains unwilling to hire a priest to exorcise whatever has been haunting the team's second seat since Daniel Ricciardo departed in 2018 (not dead; simply living his best post-racing life, noticeably bearded and dirt-biking), reasonable roster decisions will have to suffice instead. On Tuesday, Red Bull officially announced that Isack Hadjar will replace Yuki Tsunoda at the factory team for 2026, and 18-year-old phenom Arvid Lindblad will fill Hadjar's spot at Red Bull's sister team, VCARB.
All sports teams look for a real competitive edge in development speed and accuracy, but Formula 1 racing is the sport where this is most important. Looking to achieve crucial marginal gains on the track through technology, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team is now using augmented reality (AR) technology from TeamViewer to enhance test and development efficiency, and speed up the build and preparation of test rigs.
Escorted by her husband, Jay-Z, Bey stole the show on Saturday, Nov. 22, when she strolled in wearing a matching set made to look mimic a racer's catsuit uniform. The top was a zip-up moto jacket that she unfastened real low to show off her décolletage. The "ALIEN SUPERSTAR" songstress paired it with matching high-waist pants. Designed by Louis Vuitton, the predominantly white leather set featured black and red accents and was covered in patches that bore the French label's name, resembling racers' patch ornamentations.
Then there's the temperatures. The desert gets quite chilly in November without the sun shining on things, and the track surface gets down to just 11° C (52° F); by contrast at the recent Singapore GP, also at night, the track temperature was more like 36° C (97° F). So, low aero and mechanical grip, an unusual layout compared to most F1 tracks, and very cold temperatures all combine to create potential surprises, shaking up the usual running order.
Liberty Media acquired Formula 1 racing from a consortium of investors in 2017 at a valuation of $8 billion and has since tripled that value through partnering to create U.S. races, Netflix's Formula 1: Drive to Survive series, an F1 movie, the F1 Academy woman's circuit, fashion, influencer marketing and broadcast reach that will further expand with an Apple partnership next year.
"The decision to offer a premium content update for F1® 25 is part of a strategic reset for the F1® Franchise," says a new update on the EA website. "In 2027, a new game will be released that looks, feels, and plays differently, delivering more gameplay choices." This will mark the first time Codemasters has not released a new F1 game each year since 2009, when it first started producing F1 games.
"By entering the pinnacle of motorsport, Audi is making a clear, ambitious statement. It is the next chapter in the company's renewal. Formula 1 will be a catalyst for the change towards a leaner, faster, and more innovative Audi," said Gernot Döllner, Audi's CEO. "We are not entering Formula 1 just to be there. We want to win. At the same time, we know that you don't become a top team in Formula 1 overnight. It takes time, perseverance, and tireless questioning of the status quo. By 2030, we want to fight for the World Championship title," Döllner said.
Lando Norris took a stunning pole-to-flag victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix to take the championship lead by ONE point! As he led from pole, the chaos unfolded behind him, ending with Charles Leclerc eventually able to hold off Max Verstappen for second place. Lewis Hamilton started third, but his first Ferrari podium faded away after he was given a 10-second penalty. Catch up on all the action lap-by-lap below, and read the report by Nate Saunders.
