The MOHI by Appellation will feature four unique dining concepts when it opens in early 2027.
Night owls who live in southern Santa Clara County just received a fast-food gift. Raising Cane's has opened its newest Bay Area restaurant in Morgan Hill, and this location will be frying up fresh chicken strips ("fingers" in Cane's parlance) until after midnight every day - 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 a.m. the other nights of the week. Breakfast and early lunch will start at 9 a.m. daily.
Chef Charlie Palmer is so bullish on Morgan Hill, he chose it as the site of the forthcoming Appellation Hotel, a partnership he is undertaking with local entrepreneur Frank Leal. Set for completion in early 2026, the hotel will extend the reach of Appellation properties, the most recent of which just opened in Lodi, to encompass a stretch of Santa Clara Valley's agricultural richness that has not yet been overtaken by high tech sprawl.
The shooting was reported around 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 13 in the 100 block of Ciolino Avenue, near Del Monte Avenue, according to the Morgan Hill Police Department. Officers found several bullet casings at the scene and learned the 17-year-old victim had been taken to an area hospital with gunshot wounds, police said. The victim has since been treated and released.
