Chef Charlie Palmer is partnering with local entrepreneur Frank Leal to build an Appellation Hotel in Morgan Hill, scheduled to open in early 2026. The hotel will expand Appellation properties into a stretch of Santa Clara Valley known for agricultural richness that has so far avoided heavy tech development. Palmer and Leal launched the inaugural MOHI Food & Wine Festival, which sold out and showcased local and guest chefs, mostly local wines, live music and community energy. The second annual MOHI event returns Oct. 5 with expanded food and wine offerings, artisan exhibitors and music, emphasizing local culinary talent and community celebration ahead of the hotel opening.
