Bears-49ers at Levi's Stadium will decide NFC seeding; Bears can clinch the NFC North while 49ers pursue the No. 1 seed.
SANTA CLARA The Chicago Bears ruined Levi's Stadium's grand opening in 2014, rallying from a fourth-quarter deficit to beat the host 49ers in Week 2 of a season neither franchise enjoyed. This season, the Bears have parlayed six fourth-quarter comebacks into serious contention for Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium on Feb. 8. But first at that venue Sunday night comes a Bears-49ers matchup that could dictate if either snags the NFC's No. 1 seed and easiest path to the Lombardi Trophy.
The Bay Area will host six games at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara (or San Francisco Bay Area Stadium, as FIFA calls it): five in the group phase and one for the round of 32. Because FIFA is using dynamic pricing, ticket prices have gone up since the first ticket draw. Currently, prices for games in the group phase go from $140 to $2,735. Prices for the round of 32, round of 16, quarterfinals and semifinals get more expensive exponentially.
The Super Bowl returns to Santa Clara in 2026, but San Francisco will once again play host to much of the fanfare leading up to the Big Game, while San Jose will reprise its role in kicking off the week of pageantry. NFL and Bay Area Host Committee officials announced the long-awaited lineup on Monday morning, which includes the return of both the Super Bowl Experience and the media hub to downtown San Francisco's Moscone Center.
Bay Area classic rock fans woke up to great news this morning: AC/DC, one of the top-selling acts of all time, is set to perform at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Aug. 5. And, yes, it may well turn out to be the biggest rock show of the year in the Bay Area. The date at the home of the San Francisco 49ers is part of AC/DC's ongoing Power Up Tour, which kicked off in 2024 and now includes 21 dates in 2026.
After the team plummeted to last place in the NFC West last season amid injuries, tragedy and distractions, coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have put Humpty Dumpty back together again to the point where sports books have actually made the 49ers division favorites. That makes the 49ers at least a possibility to be at home on Feb. 8, when Levi's Stadium plays host to Super Bowl LX.
