Leicester Tigers guaranteed themselves a home semi-final in the Prem Rugby Cup by beating Harlequins to top Pool B. The 33-27 victory at Mattioli Woods Welford Road opened up a nine-point lead at the top of the table for Leicester, who have never won the competition, with one match left to play for second-placed Northampton Saints. Meanwhile, Exeter Chiefs moved top of Pool A with a convincing win over Bath to seal their own spot in the last four.

When I arrived at Harlequins in 2018, I didn't come with a plan for how long I'd stay. I came with a love for rugby and a hope that I'd find a place where I could grow. Lowly Gloucester secured their first league win of the season, with an impressive 26-15 Prem win over a misfiring Harlequins at Kingsholm. Following a scrappy start riddled with handling errors, the away team took the lead through Cadan Murley before Gloucester responded through Ben Redshaw's tremendous solo effort. Alex Dombrandt restored Quins' lead from close range, before a moment of madness from Rodrigo Isgro gifted Lewis Ludlow a try on his 250th appearance for the Cherry and Whites. Redshaw then claimed a deserved second after the break before Ollie Thorley put a gloss on the victory as Quins buckled in the closing stages.

It's been good. It's obviously early days. Our attitude and our mentality in the first two games has been good but it's a long season and we've got to continue that, and when games have some adversity in them, we've got to be able to cope well with that when those situations arise,

Reigning champions Bath put on a commanding second-half performance to fight back at Harlequins and begin their title defence with a bonus-point win. The hosts had made a blistering start to the match with flanker Will Evans scoring a hat-trick inside 30 minutes. Tom Dunn's reply meant the score was 12-7 when Chandler Cunningham-South was sent to the sin-bin on 33 minutes.

Image source, Getty Images Harlequins have completed the signing of prop Boris Wenger ahead of the 2025-26 season. Wenger, 23, joins from the Argentine club Dogos XV in Cordoba, where his performances earned him a place in the Super Rugby Americas team of the season for 2024. He made his international debut in June as Argentina beat the British and Irish Lions 28-24. Harlequins head coach Danny Wilson described the signing of Wenger as "a major boost".
