Quins sign Exeter scrum-half Townsend
Briefly

Harlequins has signed 29-year-old scrum-half Stu Townsend from Exeter Chiefs, where he made over 120 appearances in nearly a decade. Townsend, a vital player in Chiefs' two Premiership titles and 2020 European Champions Cup win, recently scored against Harlequins. He is eager for a fresh start at Harlequins, citing the club's rich history and ambition as motivating factors for his move. Townsend is the second new member of the Quins' squad for the upcoming season, following the signing of hooker George Turner. Currently, Quins are seventh in the table, ending their season against Bristol Bears.
"After so many great years at Exeter, the time felt right for a new challenge - somewhere I can push myself, grow as a player, and contribute to something fresh."
"Harlequins is a club steeped in history - the ambition from within and the environment being built really stood out. I can't wait to get started, meet the lads, and get stuck into pre-season."
