"By reinvesting in downtown Shreveport and upgrading existing assets to create state-of-the-art entertainment and production facilities, we are creating jobs, inspiring hope, attracting new productions, and giving the entire entertainment industry a reason to build their futures right here," said Jackson in a press release. "My goal is to turn Northwest Louisiana into the premier destination for film, music, and live entertainment on a national scale. All Roads Lead to Shreveport."
Every epic romance needs its stage, but the Canadian phenomenon Heated Rivalry built an entire global arena. The television series, which has quickly moved from queer TikTok to just about everywhere beyond and spawned a thousand "meeting at the cottage" memes in the process, follows rival hockey stars Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov as they navigate a narrative that's part coming-of-age saga, part fever dream in which Toronto masquerades as Manhattan, Hamilton doubles for Russia.
I met the dude at [a] dinner with his wife, who was genuinely a wonderful person and he was thinking of moving to Los Angeles and being a movie producer, Allen said. Really? an amused Maher said. Allen said the dinner with the president and Melania Trump happened around his last or second-to-last season starring on The Apprentice which would put the meal in the 2014-15 range. And he was talking about movies. He said I really like the film business.'
Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
"We had a stand-in ass and a fake paddle that supposedly would not put the full force," O'Leary said. "All of a sudden, Chalamet came on set and said, 'No, if this ass is going to be immortalized, it's my ass.'"
It was in a market square in the Colombian city of Cartagena when Georgi Banks-Davies wondered if she had bitten off more than she could chew. The director of The Night Manager's second series was shooting a scene in the bustling location, with just a few minutes to capture the action. Her lead actors, Tom Hiddleston, who returns as the traumatised spy Jonathan Pine, and Diego Calva, his new nemesis, had to walk among market-goers who at first were peering down the camera lens.
This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Dennis Maguire, who worked as Rob Reiner's first assistant director on "Misery" and the reshoots for "Stand By Me." On Sunday, Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Los Angeles home. The following has been edited for length and clarity. People liked Rob, and Rob liked people. He enjoyed life, and I know he gave back. Rob wasn't really flashy. Yes, he was born into royalty in Hollywood, but he wasn't pretentious at all, at least not in my experience with him. He was the real deal.
Why were these people on the topic? Well, allegedly when Baldoni met with a then-"very pregnant" (his words) Lively to convince her to do the film, they discussed whether or not she would circumcise her fourth child. In the process, he told his soon-to-be co-worker (along with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and a handful of other staff in the room) that he himself was circumcised.
At WIRED's Big Interview event in San Francisco, the onetime YouTuber and Crazy Rich Asians director said that working with acts like Justin Bieber taught him the value of connecting with fans online during the creation process. While directing Bieber's concert film, Never Say Never, in the late aughts, Chu said the then-14-year-old star used Twitter to introduce him to fans.
Since the advent of the rave in the late 1980s, filmmakers have attempted to incorporate underground dance festivals into their works with varying degrees of success. Oliver Laxe has now graced us with a hypnotic party for the ages in "Sirāt," Spain's 2026 Oscar submission for international feature - a rave that isn't just eye candy but a central plot point, where a middle-age father (Sergi López) searches for his missing daughter as the world descends into chaos.
On Pelayo street, in Madrid's trendy neighborhood of Chueca, the production company left a letter-size sheet of paper stuck to a plastic fence alerting residents to the fact that on the night of June 17 and 18 there would be a film shoot in the area. At 8.30 p.m. on the 18th, there were more than 40 people filling 100 meters of sidewalk as they prepared to start shooting, while the actors, already in makeup and wardrobe, chatted in a circle.
Yoo Capital (the same folk behind west London's Olympia) has submitted plans to Camden Council to build what is essentially going to be the UK's answer to Hollywood. In the £1 billion proposal, the real-estate investment firm wants to transform under-used industrial land in Kentish Town into a purpose-built district for film production, with homes, green spaces and education facilities.
Every fight that you see, we're hitting each other, says the 28-year-old cheerily. I had concussions, there were some bloody noses. Were the concussions frightening? Nah, I loved it! The lady who played Laila Ali Muhammad Ali's daughter, who defeated Martin by knockout in 2003 is an actual professional boxer. She's in the air force and fights for Team USA she hit hard and it was very, very real. She's how I got my concussion.
About 20 people were gathered, eating, drinking and chatting loudly. I was given a drink and a bowl of noodles, then shortly afterwards the director and showrunner asked me to read a scene with one of the actors, Adinia. She was so graceful and precise in her reading, I remember sitting across from this woman and being in complete awe of her.
It was quite the sight in general but especially unnerving at a moment when Canadian-American relations are so deep in the toilet that they're in the Pacific Ocean. Word on the street is that Aaron Sorkin is to blame. Reports were circulating online that his latest project, The Social Reckoning, began filming in the city on Monday, October 20, and he apparently kicked things off by reenacting the January 6 insurrection on Canadian soil.
Cooper Raiff returns to the podcast (first time was Ep. 128) to discuss his latest project, the eight-episode, independently-made, decades-spanning series Hal & Harper. He picks up right where we left off in the first interview, five years ago, taking us through the process of getting Cha Cha Real Smooth made, and how that green light helped him avoid compromising Hal & Harper.
Down an alley in Covent Garden, on a building that was once a banana warehouse, there is a blue plaque. Monty Python, Film Maker, Lived Here, 1976-1987, reads the inscription. It's easy to miss: the plaque is not at eye level as they normally are, but up on the first floor, almost as if the blue plaque committee lost confidence in their uncharacteristic joke. Or perhaps John Cleese put it up.
Callum Turner is hard at work on his new movie! The 35-yer-old actor joined co-stars Pete Davidson and Bobby Cannavale on set as they filmed scenes for One Night Only on Thursday afternoon (October 16) in New York City. For their time on set, Callum sported a blue polo short and black pants while Pete, 31, and Bobby, 55, were both dressed as detectives and wearing badges. In between scenes, the guys were seen chatting and snapping some silly selfies.
Flood warnings and advisories are in effect across much of the Bay Area until early evening, including a flash-flood warning in Napa County. A flood advisory was issued for northwestern Alameda County, western Contra Costa County, as well as San Francisco and northern San Mateo County, which is in effect until 6:45 pm. [KTVU] Kaiser Permanente issued a statement Monday saying that a planned five-day strike by nurses and other workers is "unnecessary and disruptive."
New York City Economic Development Corporation, New York City Industrial Development Agency and real estate investor Bungalow Projects have closed on two transactions totaling $552 million to support construction of high-end film and television production studios in Brooklyn. The sites at 176 Dikeman Street in Red Hook and 242 Seigel Street in Bushwick will be branded as Echelon Studios and, the city estimated, serve as economic and industry drivers generating 2,400 jobs between construction and operations.
His manners, his understanding, his passion, and his integrity, and the way he prepares. He loves the process. Filmmaking has been his life for 40 years. I have never seen somebody so devoted. I was happy to share with him that passion. And at the same time, we built an incredible relation of mutual trust. He will surprise the world.
