Movie star? Steph Curry gives glimpse into possible post-basketball career
"This is our home, and this is a place that when I got started, I was starting my true underdog journey in the NBA, Curry said on the red carpet. Seventeen years later, we've moved across the bridge, but we still want to plant our flag here and have Oakland represented on the national stage."
"I don't know if he wants the pay cut, but I think he is a natural born entertainer, Bell said. You can't play the way he plays, with the joy he plays with and fierceness he plays with, without knowing how to act."
Steph Curry held a screening of the animated film GOAT at Oakland's Grand Lake Theater, a film he produced and in which he voices Lenny the giraffe. A large crowd braved rain and crowded conditions, waiting more than an hour and a half before Curry appeared with his family amid flashing cameras. Curry framed Oakland as his home and recalled his underdog NBA beginnings while expressing a desire to keep Oakland represented nationally. Comedian-director W. Kamau Bell praised Curry as a natural entertainer and suggested his joyful, fierce performance style indicates acting ability.
