How a Small Virginia City Got Featured in "Queer Eye"'s Final Season - Washingtonian
"It was very much a drop-everything [moment],"
"We're both big fans of the show,"
"We were kind of freaking out the whole time,"
"Our website traffic went through the roof,"
Queer Eye's production team initially contacted the Virginia Film Office seeking production office space in the region. Visit Alexandria's film office responded when Claire Mouledoux recognized an opportunity to bring the Fab Five to the city. Mouledoux contacted Liz Bolton at the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership and the pair conducted weeks of outreach, culminating in a pivotal lunch with a head producer. They presented a detailed pitch deck tailored to each Fab Five member highlighting local restaurants, small businesses, and locations. Filming took place over five weeks from June through August 2025. Salon deZEN experienced an immediate boost in website traffic and nearly doubled year-over-year traffic on the episode's release day.
