Country music fans have something extra to be thankful for each November beyond turkey. Traditionally, the Country Music Association Awards-aka the CMA Awards-take place during the second to last month of the year. Wednesday, November 19, is the big day in 2025 for the 59th annual event. Let's get you up to speed on everything you need to know about "country music's biggest night" so you can confidently two-step your way through the evening.

and we still get those periodic, surreal pronouncements given by the city's notables to the diverse folk of Oz, those non-player characters crowding the streets. But now the focus narrows to the main players and their explosive romantic crises, essentially through two interlocking love triangles: Glinda the Good, Elphaba the Wicked and the Wizard and Glinda, Elphaba and Prince Fiyero, the handsome young military officer with whom both witches are not so secretly in love, as well as possibly having feelings for each other.

The standard time for Broadway intermissions ranges between 15 and 20 minutes, long enough to stretch your legs, maybe grab a snack, and hit the washroom. An entire year? Why, that's more than enough time for all of that and more, including forgetting some of the most important plot points and character machinations of any sort of spectacle, even the major ones.

Renate Reinsve, the radiant star of The Worst Person in the World, here plays Nora, an accomplished stage actor whose mother has recently died. As she grieves with her younger sister, Agnes, wonderfully played by Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Nora must deal with the return of their long-estranged father, Gustav, played by Stellan Skarsgard. Gustav, a film director of some note, abandoned the family when the girls were still young.

The premise of the humor - that these three guys were useless around the house without their spouses around - isn't exactly fresh. It's 2025, and the idea that a guy can't make instant ramen without somehow botching it is enough to inspire sighs more than chuckles. That said, the actors playing the three husbands in the sketch - Teller, Kenan Thompson and Ben Marshall - really commit to their utter cluelessness.

Before Tarell Alvin McCraney co-won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay (shared with director Barry Jenkins) for Moonlight, he made his mark in New York with The Brother/Sister Plays, a trilogy that fused African myth, raw emotion, and contemporary Black life. Two decades later, he revisits one of those works, The Brothers Size, in a new Off-Broadway revival at The Shed, co-directed by McCraney himself and starring Moonlight actor Andre Holland.

The 24th Annual Laurel Street Fair will take place on August 9th, 2025, celebrating community through performances by various artists and showcasing local vendors.

UNSTAGED: Live on Mid-Market is a free, interactive monthly event celebrating art and performances on Market Street designed to activate the new Mid-Market Entertainment Zone.
