The Washington Post is set to cut 33 of the 108 jobs at its Flatiron District office, with the layoffs scheduled to take effect by May 8, 2026, according to a state unemployment filing. The move will eliminate roughly one third of the staff at the local outpost, which operates out of a prewar building between Fifth and Sixth avenues.
It's been a few days since we last checked in on CBS News under Bari Weiss, and they were only threatened with one lawsuit (that we know of!) from the Trump administration. on Saturday that after Tony Dokoupil's interview with President Trump last week, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt threatened, before cameras stopped rolling, that Trump would sue CBS (again) if the interview was cut or edited at all. CBS News told that it made an "independent decision" to do just that.
One of Paramount's most powerful creative minds has left the production company. Taylor Sheridan-whose major hits, including Yellowstone, Landman, and Lioness, made him one of Paramount's most powerful writers and producers-has ditched the media house. The move comes shortly after a new chief executive, David Ellison, came on board in August and a merger between the company and Skydance was approved. Sheridan will remain involved with his Paramount projects until his current deal ends in January.
