A man has been found guilty of murdering his former partner's sister and her three children in a house fire in Bradford. Sharaz Ali, 40, was convicted at Doncaster Crown Court of murdering Bryonie Gawith and her children Denisty, nine, Oscar, five, and Aubree Birtle, 22 months. He was also convicted of attempting to murder his former partner, Bryonie's sister Antonia Gawith.
A house fire in Mississauga on Halloween night is being investigated as suspicious, Peel police say. Just before 9 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a residential fire in the area of Mississauga and Kane roads, where they found Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services crews working to extinguish a blaze at a two-storey home, Peel police said in an email. A boy with severe autism who died in a fire in Oshawa earlier this month was a joyful and friendly child who loved dancing to Disney songs and playing dress up, his mother said.
