One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation at Mass. General Hospital. Seven occupants were displaced and assisted by Boston Fire, the Boston Fire Department Volunteer Assistance Unit, and the Red Cross. One dog and one cat died; another dog was rescued and several cats were missing. Firefighters encountered broken and frozen hydrants before using another hydrant. Damages are estimated at around $600,000. The cause is under investigation.
