Lauren was the funniest, most charismatic and loving teammate you could ever ask for, the women's soccer team said in a statement. She was the first to celebrate other people's wins. She is the true definition of an amazing person. She always carried herself with compassion, kindness and happiness. The impact she made on the Titans women's soccer program is immeasurable, the team continued. She will be dearly missed by everyone but forever remembered by her Titan family.
Cal State Fullerton's women's soccer coach is pushing for more college sports teams to implement helmet rules for athletes on e-bikes and e-scooters after a box truck hit and seriously injured two of his players who were riding e-scooters in September. Lauren Turner and Ashlyn Gwynn, both sophomores on the soccer team, were riding e-scooters to a men's soccer game around 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, when a box truck struck them near Associated Road and Yorba Linda Boulevard, police said.
This week's e-bike news is all about exactly that-things that are new! We have a new e-bike release from Trek, a sneak peek at Rivian's upcoming e-bike, and new helmet technology that is proving safer than MIPS. Trek's new model, an electric gravel bike called the Checkpoint+ SL, is available in three spec tiers. All of them are equipped with TQ's 350W peak HPR60 mid-drive and are advertised to weigh between 30 and 31 lbs.
Integrated MIPS II safety system - the same brain protection found in more expensive helmets. In-mold construction - durable, lighter shell with good impact absorption. Roc Loc Sport Fit System - easy dial adjustment and solid stability. Decent ventilation and padding - comfortable on everyday rides and moderate distances. This is a helmet that's good enough to wear with confidence. For me, that's the bottom line.
