The annual lighting of the menorah at Jane Warner Plaza took place on December 15, 2025, just a day after the official start of Hanukkah, which will end on December 22. The observance is made possible by Castro Merchants, the Castro LGBTQ Cultural District, Sha'ar Zahav, and the Castro Community Benefit District. The multi-branched menorah signifies different aspects of Jewish tradition and resilience, along with the idea of spreading light into darkness.

Lighting it up since 1975, San Francisco celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first giant public menorah outside Israel, a landmark Bill Graham project that went on to inspire thousands of menorahs around the world. This year's eight-night festival brings music, community gatherings, and nightly ceremonies honoring leaders and traditions across the Jewish community. For decades, Seddio was the force behind Canarsie's most famous holiday attraction: a dazzling display at his law office at Flatlands Avenue and East 93rd Street. Each year, the building was wrapped in more than 150,000 lights and filled with mechanical figures, moving scenes and inflatable decorations that attracted thousands of visitors and rivaled the most elaborate displays across the five boroughs. The tradition stretched nearly 50 years before dimming in 2021, when Seddio put the historic property up for sale.
