Oakland's historic "Cathedral of Culture" reopens January 23–24, 2026 with a weekend full of community-centered events. HJK Arena hosts Skate the Town on January 23 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, featuring coordinated rollerdance by Richard Humphrey, videography by Beto Lopez, step- and line-dancing, and a live DJ. The Opening Festival runs January 24 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, is free for all ages, includes a 9:45 AM grand ribbon cutting possibly featuring Children's Fairyland puppets, pastries by Chef Tony, and performances by Prescott Circus Theatre and Maikaze Daiko.
