In a statement, Lt. Bill Whitaker said the person who was shot is expected to survive. The officer also suffered minor injuries. Police did not identify the officer who fired his gun or the other officer who was involved in the incident. They placed the officer who fired on paid administrative leave, per department policy. They did not identify the suspect or say how old he is.
