San Leandro police shoot at man armed with rifle after he allegedly fled traffic stop
"SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- San Leandro police say a traffic stop early Monday morning ended in a police shooting. It happened around 12:30 a.m. Police say an officer attempted to pull over a driver, but they allegedly sped off before crashing near the area of Davis and Alvarado Streets. According to police, an officer later spotted the suspect on nearby railroad tracks holding a rifle. Police say he wouldn't drop his weapon, which is when an officer shot at him."

At about 12:30 a.m. in San Leandro, an officer attempted to pull over a driver who sped away and crashed near Davis and Alvarado Streets. A person was later observed on nearby railroad tracks holding a rifle and refused to drop the weapon. An officer fired at the individual. No injuries were reported and the person was taken into custody. The officer who fired a weapon has been placed on administrative leave as part of standard protocol.
