The Animal Crossing: New Horizons modification, uploaded to the site GameBanana on Saturday (4 January), gives the cartoon Shih Tzu larger breasts and buttocks as well as a thinner waist. Activist and author Parker Molloy highlighted the fan-made addon in a seemingly bewildered post on BlueSky, asking: "Why, though?" Her post received such significant backlash, including a flurry of transphobic death threats, that Molloy not only deleted the post, but her entire Bluesky account.

Anti-trans Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) issued a public apology on Thursday after reportedly mistaking a cisgender woman in a U.S. Capitol restroom for out transgender Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE). She allegedly told the woman, "You shouldn't be here," an anonymous Republican representative told The Daily Beast. Boebert then alerted arch-transphobe Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) about "a guy" in the women's restroom, The Beast wrote.

"When I started wearing makeup and being more feminine and wanting to do certain things... it wasn't like, 'Oh my God, Jeffree needs, what do they call it now, gender-affirming care?' It's like when you're a tomboy. Did your mom... did she cut your tits off at 13? Nowadays, it's all these f*****g weirdos telling their kids, 'OMG you like a Barbie? You're a woman!'"

Joseph Phillip Daniel is a conservative Christian preacher who was once featured in a segment on The 700 Club. He got media attention in 2019 again when he was working at an Illinois Mobil gas station and refused to serve a group of women because they were Mexican. He claimed that they were not citizens and that if they don't leave the country, "ICE will come." He got fired.

Saying that the right wants to exterminate trans people is not hyperbole. Republican bigotry has fueled an array of initiatives designed to drive trans people out of public life. But conservatives aren't content with turning trans people into fourth-class citizens. They want the public to see them as enemies of the state-as mentally ill savages pulling the country into the moral abyss. In the days following the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the New York Post's coverage repeatedly cast transgender people as central to the violence, leaning on anonymous sources and unverified leaks from law enforcement, some of which Utah Gov. Spencer Cox and investigators have since contradicted. The effect has been to paint a target on a community already living under intensifying political scrutiny and cultural hostility.

Seconds prior to the shooting, Kirk was being asked about the number of trans people involved in mass shootings - a topic that has become a key conservative talking point since the recent Minneapolis shooting. "Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?" an audience member asked Kirk, in a video seen by PinkNews. "Too many," Charlie Kirk said in response.

"We know there's an outrageous, horrific rise in violence against women, sexual crimes and rape," she said. "Now there's the rise of incel culture and the likes of Andrew Tate pushing ideas of men's power and what they're entitled to. It's really sad that those pushing the anti-trans narrative don't realise that's exactly what they're playing into."
