Zach Charbonnet ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and the Seattle Seahawks turned two third-quarter Carolina turnovers into TDs to beat the Panthers 27-10 on Sunday and close in on the No 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. Sam Darnold threw an interception in the end zone but finished 18 of 27 for 147 yards with a touchdown for the Seahawks, who can wrap up the NFC West title and the top seed if the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams both lose or tie. Jaxson Smith-Njigba added nine catches for 72 yards as Seattle (13-3) won their sixth straight.
The Patriots want to extend their win streak and maintain their undefeated away record, but they'll likely be without some key contributors on offense, which will already be in for a tough day against a very dominant Tampa defensive line. Although they faced the league's best defense just two weeks ago vs. the Browns, the Bucs are not going to be any easier.
Week 7 of the NFL season wraps up in style as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1) travel to Ford Field to face the Detroit Lions (4-2) in a Monday Night Football clash. This matchup pits one of the league's hottest quarterbacks against a Detroit defense struggling to stay healthy. The result could have lasting implications for postseason seeding - and perhaps even the MVP race.
TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be without wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. and running back Bucky Irving when they face the Detroit Lions next week in a "Monday Night Football" clash between two of the NFC's top teams. "Chris is not in play to practice, so I'm sure he won't be back," Bucs coach Todd Bowles said Monday, adding that the same is true for Irving.
Warner's right ankle got trapped under safety Ji'Ayir Brown, who was tackling Rachaad White on a 10-yard run near midfield. Warner had fought off a Tristan Wirfs block and turned to join the tackle when his ankle became collateral damage. It was no coincidence White broke through the right side of the 49ers' front. Only 10 defenders were on the field.
TAMPA, Fla. - In a first half that saw virtually nothing go right for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Philadelphia Eagles, kicker Chase McLaughlin hit a franchise-record 65-yard field goal -- just one yard shy of the NFL's all-time record. It was the longest outdoor field goal in league history and cut the Buccaneers' deficit at the time to 24-6.
