A 12-year-old boy died in a fire in Lewisham, south London. Despite emergency services' efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman, aged 54, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The fire damaged a maisonette and part of the building's external fascia. Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters were deployed to tackle the blaze, which was brought under control by 2am. Investigators are working to determine the fire's cause, which is not currently deemed suspicious.
