A major water pipe burst in south London led to significant flooding on Ilderton Road, transforming it into a water-filled scene. Residents experienced complete water outages, with areas affected including SE1, SE5, SE8, SE11, SE14, SE15, SE16, SE17, SW4, SW8, and SW9. Thames Water representatives are working on-site to address repairs and restore water pressure, expecting supplies to return by Tuesday lunchtime. Southwark Council is assisting residents affected by flooding, providing support and establishing a rest centre for those who have had to leave their homes.
In total 11 postcodes across south London have been affected by the incident, stretching from Rotherhithe to Brixton.
The affected postcodes are SE1, SE5, SE8, SE11, SE14, SE15, SE16, SE17, SW4, SW8 and SW9.
Thames Water said its staff were onsite and working to isolate the section of pipe that needs repairing.
