There are more than 6,000 Pizza Huts dotting the thoroughfares of the United States, and almost all of them look exactly the same: The interiors are squat, bland, and cramped; the dining options are restricted to takeout and delivery; there is no soundtrack, save for fluorescent lights buzzing overhead; and there is maybe a lonely chair waiting listlessly by the doorway.

One of my fondest moments in my relationship with my fiancé happened because of a Walmart being open 24 hours. This was back in 2018-ish, and my fiancé and I both worked at the local Pizza Hut. We had opposite schedules, and for some reason, management never scheduled our days off together. For about 3 or 4 months, we only saw each other at shift change.

Back then, pizza delivery wasn't a big thing. Restaurant chain Pizza Hut has announced a new logo design for its branches in the UK, Canada and some other markets. The new look moves away from the round background (below) - presumably meant to evoke a pizza - and has echoes of an older design originally introduced in the 1970s, which is still used in the US today. The refreshed brand retains the iconic 'hut' element of the design, and, like some previous versions, uses an italicised fonts.

Pizza Hut's new Crafted Flattz is a limited-run pizza-for-one that reimagines a nostalgic, kid-friendly menu item with elevated recipes for adults and a new price tag. Costing just $5 before 5 p.m, it's part of the company's strategy to offer smaller pizzas for less. The Crafted Flattz comes in five flavors designed for taste buds that have evolved beyond plain cheese pizza, like a spicy Nashville Hot Chicken and The Ultimate, which comes with caramelized onions and roasted peppers.
