Maine's yellow flag law invoked more than a dozen times after deadly shootings

Maine's yellow flag law, which restricts access to guns during mental health crises, has been invoked more than a dozen times since a mass shooting in Lewiston.
The updated figures released by the state show that weapons restriction orders have been imposed at least 13 times under the yellow flag law since the shooting, bringing the total to 94 times since the law went into effect.
Four people whose guns were temporarily removed under the yellow flag law referenced the name of the gunman responsible for the mass shooting.
Law enforcement officers in Maine participated in a training focused on the yellow flag law, with several hundred officers attending.
