Katherine Elizabeth Hartley Short, the 42-year-old daughter of actor Martin Short, has passed away. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at her Hollywood Hills residence on Monday evening, where she was found deceased. According to reports, she died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Katherine was the oldest of Martin Short's three adoptive children with his late wife Nancy Dolman, who died in 2010 from ovarian cancer. She had two younger brothers, Oliver Patrick Short and Henry Hayter Short. Katherine graduated from New York University in 2006 with a degree in psychology and gender sexuality studies, and later pursued a master's degree in social work. The Short family released a statement expressing their devastation and requesting privacy during this time.
