A vehicle struck a construction worker on an overnight shift on Highway 101 in Novato, according to the California Highway Patrol. RELATED: Caltrans engineer dies after being struck by asphalt truck in Contra Costa County The incident happened at about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday in the northbound lanes near the San Antonio Road overcrossing, where a van crashed into a construction truck and the worker, CHP Officer Alex Ochoa said. The worker suffered major injuries. The Ford van sustained major damage, the CHP reported.
