Preparations for the draft are well underway, with teams already hosting private workouts with eligible prospects. The first scouting event is set to tip off on Wednesday, with the top seniors in the country embarking on the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in Virginia.
Golden State announced it was signing Jeenathan Nate Williams, 27, on Tuesday morning. With Pat Spencer now on a standard contract, the Warriors had space to sign Williams to a contract that will likely see him spend most of his time with Santa Cruz's G-League SeaDubs. He spent his senior year of high school at Prolific Prep, then located in Napa, where Williams averaged 15.8 points per game. He then went on to play at Buffalo.
Keshad Johnson is not a name that many non-Miami Heat fans may know. However, he'll have the opportunity to change that as he prepares to compete in the 2026 NBA Slam Dunk Contest this weekend. The Slam Dunk Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend may not be what it used to be, but despite the lack of big names, it's still one of the biggest lures of the festivities.
The players I'm talking about are Ja'Kobe Walter, Gradey Dick, and Ochai Agbaji. For most of the 2025-26 season, these three have been the swingmen options Toronto has used, and they've all had their ups and downs. Agbaji has definitely been the most disappointing of the three, Dick continues to be inconsistent in his third NBA season, and while Ja'Kobe Walter still catches my eye with potential - he's still very much unproven to warrant a significant role.
Lewis cleared several benchmarks, including stress management counseling and training on responsible use of social media, to become eligible to re-join the officiating program. He is scheduled to return to action as a referee during a G League Showcase game between the Osceola Magic and Noblesville Boom at 6 p.m. EST Friday night at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Shareef Abdur-Rahim is president of the G League. One of the league's newest players refers to him a bit differently. The reigning G League champion Stockton Kings drafted Jabri Abdur-Rahim -- Shareef's son -- on Saturday, taking him with the 29th pick in the first round. Jabri Abdur-Rahim played with the Sacramento Kings in NBA Summer League. Jabri Abdur-Rahim spent his final college season at Providence, after three years at Georgia and his first year at Virginia.
The 27-year-old, 6-foot-11 big man, who went undrafted in 2022 out of Louisville, got his first real experience with an NBA main roster when he signed with Toronto in late April 2024. He initially signed a 10-day contract with the Raptors, then ended up signing for the rest of the season to finish out the 2023-24 campaign. Before that, he spent some time with the Miami Heat's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
Back in 2011, when 13-year-old Katie Benzan took the varsity floor as an eighth-grader for Noble and Greenough, players from the Tabor Academy bench snickered. The plucky, 80-pound sharpshooter was relatively quiet in the first half. Even her mother, assistant coach Kim Benzan, asked coach Alex Gallagher if he was positive she was ready for the limelight. But Benzan was ready. In the second half, she erupted for six 3-pointers, steering the Bulldogs to a resounding 16-point win and announcing her arrival.
