Nets recall rookie Nolan Traore as path to point guard minutes opens
"Yeah, he's been playing well down in the G, so, happy for him to be back,"
"Obviously a very talented kid, a young guy that can do a lot of things on the court. So, it's good to have him back."
"I think I progressed in all aspects of the game,"
"The context is different [with the Nets], but we still want him to play the same way, if that makes sense,"
The Nets recalled rookie guard Nolan Traore from their G League affiliate on Long Island, with fellow rookie Drake Powell also joining the NBA roster while Ben Saraf remained in the G League. Traore averaged 18.8 points and 6.4 assists with 43.1% three-point shooting across 13 G League games, scoring at least 12 in each outing. Over his last five games he averaged 22.2 points, 7.6 assists and 1.2 steals on 58.3% shooting and 60% from deep. Traore attributed his improved long-range shooting to increased confidence and the expanded role as the primary floor general. Coach Jordi Fernández expressed satisfaction with Traore’s development but did not define a specific role with the NBA team.
