TANK has completed the L'Alliance , a modular school in Dunkerque, France. The new construction includes an agora, a seven-classroom nursery, an eight-classroom elementary school, a cafeteria, a community center, a multipurpose hall divisible into smaller spaces, a cybercenter, offices, a civic hall, and outdoor areas.
Jinwan Aviation New City, one of Zhuhai's fastest-growing areas, urgently needed a new community center to meet the demands of its expanding population. The site, located in the heart of this new district, consisted of four standalone ancillary buildings surrounded by dense housing developments. However, due to rushed planning, these buildings suffered from design flaws: closed facades, disconnected circulation, and a lack of functional synergy.
The Ella Hill Hutch Community Center, operational for over thirty years, may close permanently as its parent nonprofit faces debarment following an alleged bribery scandal.
The iconic mushroom-shaped roof shifts in character: embracing the playful spirit of the library while grounding it in the Elusive beauty of the local landscape.
"When someone asks me to describe it. What is it? Is it a health clinic? Is it a community center? Is it a government center? Is it a cultural center? It's all of the above," said Santa Clara County Supervisor Betty Duong.
