A 26-year-old Brooklyn man and his family were allegedly targeted in an antisemitic attack while walking near their home in Bedford-Stuyvesant late last week, authorities said. Officials said 35-year-old Isharae Summers began following the family around 11:20 p.m. near Nostrand and Willoughby avenues, shouting threats at the father and his children, including "I'm going to choke you!" and "I'm going to kill all the Jews!" The attack reportedly escalated when Summers allegedly struck the father in the head and chest, officials said.
Slaughter's 18-month-old son was found after a 911 caller reported an attempted car theft in the 300 block of North Avenue 52 around 10 a.m. Sunday, police said. Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Driving Under the Influence: Someone was located driving a stolen vehicle at Hamilton and Leigh avenues. The suspect displayed signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug intoxication, and was in possession of suspected crystal methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart dismissed backup offensive lineman Nyier Daniels on Monday, a day after he was arrested for allegedly driving more than 150 mph while attempting to flee police in Commerce, Georgia. An infant was taken to the hospital in San Francisco Wednesday afternoon following an accidental fentanyl overdose, and two adults linked to the overdose were arrested. Police were called to the scene at a residence on Cravath Street on Treasure Island around 1:23 pm Wednesday. There they found an unresponsive infant, who was then taken to a hospital. Cravath Street is the site of one of the newest residential developments on the island.
Novato police arrested four suspects in the theft of about $33,000 worth of eyewear products, including 90 pairs of glasses. The theft happened at about 3 p.m. Friday at the LensCrafters store at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. Witnesses said the thieves fled in a Dodge Charger without license plates. A California Highway Patrol officer stopped the vehicle on southbound Highway 101 in Terra Linda. Investigators determined that three men and a 17-year-old boy were the thieves.
A woman was arrested by CHP officers in Dublin after crashing her car, possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and leaving a 1-year-old child behind in the car. The officers found the woman walking along the roadway of I-580, and when they located the car, they found the child inside; the child is reportedly okay. A 2-year-old boy whose death in a wash in Barstow during a September rainstorm appeared to be a tragic accident is actually the victim of a crime, authorities say, after Xavier Aguilera-Padilla's father was charged Tuesday, Oct. 21, with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. Brandon Aguilera-Padilla, 26, of Barstow, pleaded not guilty to that charge as well as one count of willful child endangerment likely to cause injury or death in Superior Court in Victorville on Tuesday afternoon. NEW YORK -- Police released a photo and video of the woman last seen with an abandoned newborn baby girl at New York City's Penn Station. An anonymous tip led police to the child at the station on W. 34th Street and 7th Avenue just before 9:30 a.m. on Monday. The baby girl, described as a newborn, was found wrapped in a blanket at the bottom of a staircase leading to the 1/2/3 train platform.
Leshea Harris, 30, was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Oct. 8 on a complaint charging her with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child after she allegedly left her four children, including a 4-year-old boy, at the Beach 25th Street apartment of Amariah George, 30, with her four children, while the two mothers went to East New York to rob a woman on New Lots Avenue, according to the criminal complaint.
A teacher at Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley is facing child endangerment charges after he was arrested Friday, according to Taunton police. Thomas Wilson, 37, of Southbridge, was charged with reckless sexual endangerment of a child, enticement of a child under the age of 16, and possession of child pornography, Taunton police said in a statement. The charges came following an investigation of an alleged Sept. 18 incident.
A youth football coach in Connecticut was arrested after allegedly pushing a 7-year-old player to the ground on Sunday. There was a disturbance between two assistant coaches after the New Milford Bulls coach allegedly pushed a player from the opposing team, the Water-Oak 7U Team, after a play on the field, according to New Milford police. No injuries were reported, police say.
DUBLIN - A narcotics sales investigation into a convicted felon culminated Thursday in the 49-year-old woman's arrest in Dublin, as well as the seizure of three kilograms of cocaine and $15,900 in cash, authorities said. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency served a warrant on behalf of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at a residence on Markleeville Road, according to the sheriff's office.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Hingham police received a report that a child was alone in a car and screaming for their mother outside the Whole Foods at 94 Derby St. The couple who called 911 had parked next to the vehicle and heard the child, who was in a car seat in the back seat, police said. "The windows were all closed, the engine was off, and the sun roof was open," police said.
Torrance police have arrested two people wanted in connection with the death of a 1-month-old girl who was fatally bitten by a dog inside a home last fall, authorities announced on Friday, Aug. 29. Genna Magliocco and Charles Womack were taken into custody on felony child-endangerment warrants, the Torrance Police Department announced. A man was arrested after stealing a car in East Los Angeles with three children inside, then crashing it in Malibu during a police pursuit Friday evening, officials confirmed. The car, a light-colored sedan, was left running with three children inside at a 7-Eleven on East Olympic Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. SAN JOSE The mother-daughter operators of a San Jose daycare center where two toddlers drowned in a swimming pool in 2023 were held to answer to charges of child endangerment by a judge following a preliminary hearing this week. The ruling, which means that there is sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial, was passed down by Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Ronald Toff, following a three-day preliminary hearing that concluded Thursday.
