Seventy percent of the Yoshino cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin are now open, which means it's officially peak bloom. The flowers remain in all their peak bloom glory for a few days, so this is prime time to check out the blossoms at their best.

I hadn't expected to find cherry blossoms in Wallington, of all places, but there they were, lining the path with their delicate branches, not yet fully in bloom but definitely on their way.

This year the park celebrated the 49th anniversary of its Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival, with events continuing through April 30.
