Two civilians injured in Sunset Park apartment fire

The fire started at 1:25 p.m. on the third floor of the four-story building on 48th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues. The fire was under control at 2:15 p.m. Two civilians were evaluated on scene but refused to go to the hospital.

Glass window falls 400 feet from skyscraper to Manhattan street

A pane of glass plummeted more than 400 feet from a Midtown skyscraper, crashing down onto the sidewalk and street below early Sunday morning, city officials said. The 4-foot-by-6-foot pane fell from 1345 Sixth Ave., a 50-story, 2 million-square-foot tower at W. 54th St., around 7 a.m., according to the city's Department of Buildings. No one was injured by the glass, though police blocked off the sidewalk as first responders gathered.
